Respite & Ingenuity Memorial Gazebo in the James V. Brown Library, Williamsport, PA. Blacksmiths: Joshua Cunningham and Andrew Macneal, collaborative design: Marguerite Bierman and Norman Wengert.
The February 7,2010 dedication of the Respite & Ingenuity Memorial Gazebo, with original choreography by Jaclyn Gailit-Lutz of Turning Pointe School of Ballet , culminated a two year planning to installation of a two ton iron gazebo fabricated by blacksmith's Joshua Cunningham and Andrew Macneal of Spring Mills, PA. The design commission also included a walnut octagonal urn with floral bas relief ceramic panels and tin liner (Havens Woodworking, ceramist Anne Meyer, and M&M Sheet Metal). There are gold leaf accents n the iron, and bronze dedication relief plaques on the reverse of the hand cut Respite & Ingenuity banners. The footprint of the gazebo replaces the original 1907 reference desk with a French travertine, verte antique marble, and honed black granite floor with wenge threshold.
